What’s the difference between recycling and upcycling? Here at Baxter of California, we had to double check ourselves! Recycling means taking waste and turning it into something else. Upcycling is taking an existing item and reusing it in a different way. In celebration of Earth Day, we’ve discovered hacks on how you can tackle upcycling your favorite Baxter of California products.

Baxter of California Candles, available in White Wood, Black Oak and Sweet Ash, will last you 45 hours of burn time – but you can keep their strong glass jars around even longer. After you’ve enjoyed your candle to the last drop of wax, put in freezer and then gently tap out the remaining wax at bottom of glass. Fill with your favorite small house plant or even use as a toothbrush holder. Upcycling at its best!

Clay Pomade remains a customer-favorite, but did you know it’s adored by succulents as well? After you’ve scooped out your last bit of pomade, gently rinse out the jar with water and create a new home for mini cacti and plants.

If you’re looking to add a focal point to adorn your shelves, our new Skin Concentrate BHA comes in a tall glass jar with a beautiful silhouette. It’s the perfect decoration in front of a mirror to add a bit of color to your room.

Upcycling can be easy with these hacks from Baxter of California. Post your upcycling photos to #lifelivedtrue, we’d love to see them.
